Plaza Suite.Random House, New York , 1969 Stock Code: 96915
NotesFirst edition in book form, first printing, presentation copy, inscribed by the author to film director Tony Harvey, "To Tony - I hope you do it. Neil", on the front free endpaper, indicating his desire at the time for Harvey to direct the film adaptation of the play. The film version, released in 1971, was in fact directed by Arthur Hiller, and Simon expressed unhappiness with the result. The play premiered on Broadway at the Plymouth Theatre on 14 February 1968.
Octavo. Original black cloth-backed yellow boards, spine lettered in gilt, front board stamped in blind. With the dust jacket.
Spine a little faded, a couple of minor stains to margins; an excellent copy in the nicked jacket with toned spine.
