First edition, first impression, in unusually unrestored condition and rare thus. Poems was printed in a run of 1,000 copies. In addition to poetry, this work contains the play "Paid on Both Sides: A Charade", which is dedicated to Cecil Day-Lewis and was written during Auden's stay in Berlin from 1928 to 1929.
Description
Octavo. Original blue paper wrappers, titles in black to front cover within frame ruled in red, untrimmed.
Condition
A hint of wear to extremities, wrappers somewhat darkened with a little foxing, the binding otherwise firm, internally crisp; a fresh, unrestored copy.
