First edition in Spanish and first illustrated edition (second overall), first printing, of Lorca's final cycle of poems. They were published posthumously but were written during his New York residency in 1929 and 1930. This edition was published just a few weeks after the bilingual Spanish-English New York edition: The Poet in New York and Other Poems.
Known internationally as a member of the influential group of Spanish poets "Generation of '27", he was assassinated by Francoists in 1936 just days after the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War.

Large octavo. Original cream wrappers, titles printed in red and black to spine and front cover, untrimmed.

Title printed in red and black, 2 colour plates, and 2 full-page monochrome illustrations from drawings by Garcia Lorca.
Condition
Light browning and creasing to spine ends and edges, the wrappers otherwise firm and unfaded, occasional light spotting, else internally fresh; a very good copy indeed.
