Popular Fallacies Regarding Bimetallism.London, Macmillan and Co., Ltd, 1896 Stock Code: 141525
NotesFirst edition, inscribed by the author on the half-title "To Thomas Raleigh from Robert P. Edgcumbe with best wishes Feb. 1899", subsequently owned by the economist Lionel Robbins, with his ownership signature dated February 1928 above the inscription, and his annotations to pp. 80, 81, and 83, disagreeing with the author's pronouncements. Edcumbe has struck out the printed address on the preface, and written in Sandye Place, Sandy; a contender for Edgcumbe's recipient may be Sir Thomas Raleigh (1850-1920), the author of Elementary Politics (first published in 1886) and Irish Politics (1890).
Octavo. Original red cloth, spine lettered in gilt, black endpapers.
Light sunning to spine and rubbing at extremities, rear cover a little cockled. A very good copy.
