Notes

First edition. Signed by John Stonehouse, the British MP who caused controversy when he faked his own suicide in 1974. The inscription reads; " to/ Nigel Heseltine/ with kind regards/ from/ John Stonehouse/ Mauritius - July '63". Heseltine was a Civil Commisioner and later became Resident Commisioner of the Island of Rodrigues, a Mauritius dependency.

Octavo. Blue paper over boards, spine lettered in gilt, with dust jacket.

12 pages of monochrome photographs, inscribed by the author on front free endpaper.

Condition

Some chips to spine and front side, boards a little dust-soiled, endpapers a little toned, some light foxing and browning to dust jacket, small tear at spine and one or two chips at edges, otherwise a very good copy.
