This copy is from the library of Frieda Hughes, daughter of Ted Hughes and Sylvia Plath, though unmarked as such. This work is described by Ted Hughes as "a numb poem about numbness" in which "Prometheus eventually comes to terms with the vulture which torments him and transforms it into the midwife of his reborn self" (ODNB).
