Sammelband of French military manuals in charming streaked sheep with slip-case.

Highly attractive volume, combining early editions of three rare Napoleonic-era manuals for the organisation and administration of infantry on service at home and in the field, in camp and quarters; containing immensely detailed regulations for the duties incumbent on various ranks, with examples of the extensive tables and forms required in record-keeping. These regulations represent a fine encapsulation of the attention to detail and good order which characterized the French Army under Napoleon, this particular volume being set apart by the unusual charm and excellent repair of the binding and protective slip-case.

Tables to the text.

Very lightly rubbed on the boards, endpapers a touch mottled, half-title and title of first-named loose, pale toning else, case is rubbed with a few splits and knocks, but entirely sound, very good.
