In the very scarce variant jacket for the Canadian editionFirst Canadian Edition, one of 525 copies only, printed from the British sheets, in the same year of publication as the Hogarth Press first edition. The present edition is scarcely found with the dust jacket, which used a different image to the London edition.
This copy has a highly distinguished collector's provenance, bearing the bookplate of William Beekman to the front pastedown. Much of Beekman's excellent Bloomsbury Group and Hogarth Press collection now forms part of the Berg Collection at the New York Public Library.
