Camera Studies. With an Introduction by Arnold Haskell.London: Geofrey Bles, Stock Code: 145179
First edition, deluxe signed limited issue, number 46 of 100 copies signed by the photographer Gordon Anthony. An exquisite production, presenting the portraits of Anthony, one of the period's great ballet photographers. Included are portraits of the Diaghilev company's celebrated choreographer Michael Fokine, and the first photographs of Serge Lifar. A very scarce book, scarcer even than the limitation would suggest.
Quarto. Original red quarter morocco, spine lettered in gilt, white cloth sides, top edge gilt, others untrimmed.
Tipped-in portrait frontispiece and 95 similar plates.
Light insect damage to morocco, minor soiling to cloth, some light foxing. A very good copy.
