Sarratt and the Draper of Watford
and other unlikely stories about Sarratt from international authors.
Sarratt: Village Books, 1999 Stock Code: 139960
First edition, first impression. The book was part of a Le Carré-sponsored project to raise funds for charities supporting the village of Sarratt, Hertfordshire, where le Carré had in his early novels set his training centre for British spies. The collection includes a story by former KGB Intelligence Officer Mikhail Lubimov. The dust jacket (with the flaps unstamped) has, printed on the rear panel, a quiz consisting of nine quotations from Le Carré's books all with some mention of Sarratt, the test being to identify the provenance of each. Accompanying this copy is the pamphlet, issued with the book, containing a list of the people of Sarratt as of 21 June 1999.
