Seaports in the Moon.
A Fantasia on Romantic Themes.Garden City, NY: Doubleday, Doran & Company, Inc., 1928 Stock Code: 87516
First edition, first printing. Presentation copy, inscribed by the author on the front blank, "For Leroy T. Gober - remembering a pleasant part in my lunar voyaging - in friendship, Vincent Starrett, 25 May 1928". Loosely inserted is a manuscript letter from Janet Hill Zimmerman to the recipient, thanking him for the loan of the work, "I was sold on Vincent Starrett by the time I had reached the third page. His humor is delicious, isn't it, and the prose is close to poetry at times". She goes on to apologise for the tears at page 173; "I'm awfully sorry about the torn leaf which evidently happened when I dropped the book".
Octavo. Original black cloth, titles to spine and front cover in red, orange endpapers, top edge red.
Very lightly rubbed at extremities, spine text a little toned, top edge faded, contents toned, a couple of closed tears to page 173, spine cracked between front free endpaper and front blank. A very good copy.
