First Henry Ospovat edition. Ospovat was a prolific illustrator from the late 1800s to early 1900s, providing illustrations for Shakespeare's Songs, Poems by Matthew Arnold, and Robert Browning's Men and Women. He later became known for his caricatures of celebrities, including Harry Lauder and Keir Hardie.

Description

Quarto. Original brown cloth, spine lettered and decorated in gilt, titles to front board in gilt, top edges gilt, fore and bottom edges untrimmed.

Illustrations

Illustrations throughout by Henry Ospovat.

Condition

Slight rubbing to head and foot of spine, sunning to boards, lower right tip of front board slightly bumped, with mild foxing to endpapers. A good copy.
