A certificate signed by Margaret Thatcher, to commend Conservative Party activist Lily A. Davies: "On behalf of the Conservative Party I should like to offer sincere thanks for all the time and effort that you have given for so many years to the service of our Party... People such as yourself are now as they have always been and will continue to be the backbone of the Conservative Party... I speak on behalf of the whole Party when I express my gratitude to you personally. Margaret Thatcher".
Included is a photocopy of a typed letter signed from Thatcher to Davies, 4 August 1982, wishing her well on her 80th birthday, and commending her work at the Holborn and St Pancras South Conservative Association, where she acted as chairperson of the South West Ladies Branch for 25 years, and constituency chairperson for ten years: "you are a wonderful example to us all".
