NotesA handsomely bound copy of Sketches by Boz, a collection of pieces concerning the daily life of London and its people, together with Dicken's unfinished last novel, The Mystery of Edwin Drood. Dickens died before the novel could be completed, with only six of the planned twelve instalments ever published.
2 volumes bound as 1, octavo (204 x 125 mm). Contemporary black half calf, titles and elaborate decoration to spine gilt, red morocco label, raised bands, marbled sides, endpapers, and edges.
Frontispiece to both volumes, title page illustrations, and 57 plates by various artists.
Extremities rubbed and a little chipped, else a very good copy.
