Description
Quarto (300 x 238 mm). Finely bound by Elias P. van Bommel of Amsterdam in contemporary brown full sheep, smooth spine with gilt decoration and titles direct, colour plate pasted down to front board, tiles gilt and elaborate decoration in gilt and black to front board, rear board decorated in blind, top edge gilt, gilt turn-ins, marbled endpapers.
Illustrations
15 tipped-in colour plates with tissue guards, black and white illustrations in the text. There should actually be 16 plates but the plate illustrating May Colven has been used by the binder to decorate the front cover.
Condition
Small scratch to rear board. An excellent copy.
