Some Imagist Poets.Boston & New York: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1915 Stock Code: 146789
First edition, first printing, inscribed by Lowell on the front free endpaper in the month of publication: "Elsie, with lots of love from Amy. April. 1915."
Some Imagist Poets was edited by Lowell and published a year after the first Imagist anthology, Ezra Pound's Des Imagistes. In her preface, Lowell describes how her intentions as an Imagist were "to create new rhythms", "to use the language of common speech", and "to present an image" (p. vii). The anthology collects poems by Richard Aldington, H. D., John Gould Fletcher, F. S. Flint, D. H. Lawrence, and Lowell herself, all published for the first time in book form.
Octavo. Original cream boards with green wrappers, spine and front wrapper lettered in black.
Spine ends a little frayed, short split to foot of front wrapper, slight fading to spine and edges of wrapper, contents clean and free from marks. A very good copy indeed.
