Loosely inserted are two rather worn hand-written letters dated in 1915 from principles of the 'French-Australian League of Help' sent to a cutter, one thanking him for his offer to join them for a day cutting out "simple frocks for young girls", the other for his efforts "cutting so well 134 pairs of under pants" for them, together with a photogravure portrait of Queen Alexandra.

27 pages of cutting diagrams, several pages with photographic illustrations.
A little rubbed and spotted, corners worn, front hinge a slightly cracked, text-block mildly toned, pencilled annotation to the front free endpaper "Egyptian recipe - hedgehog fat cures baldness", but overall very good.
