Design and art direction Raymond Hawkey. Photography by Ken Denyer.London: Jonathan Cape Ltd, 1965 Stock Code: 143897
First edition, first impression. Written under a pseudonym, Amis's tongue-in-cheek work is a manual for prospective agents to live like James Bond, wittily illustrated with examples from the Fleming canon. The dust jacket is reversible, entitled on the verso as The Bible to be Read as Literature - a play on a scene in Goldfinger, in which Bond carries his gun in a hollowed out book of this title.
Octavo. Original brown cloth, spine lettered in gilt, metallic blue, and red, gold endpapers. With dust jacket.
Illustrated in red and black.
A fine copy, in very good jacket, a little toned with very minor peripheral rubbing.
