Notes

First edition, first printing, inscribed by the author, "For Marie with best wishes Alan Watts", on the front free endpaper. This is Watts's "manual of initiation into the central mystery of existence" (jacket blurb), exploring the self's relation to the universe and drawing on the ancient Hindu philosophy of Vedanta to interrogate the problem of personal identity.
