First edition of this study of Welsh customs and superstitions. Roberts (1760-1819) was a Church of England clergyman and antiquarian and wrote three books on Wales of which this is the third. Cambrian Popular Antiquities collected numerous folk stories, including Arthurian legend, and records ancient traditions still enacted such as various funeral rites. It "remains a valuable source to Welsh social history" (ODNB).

Condition
With bookplate of John Sides Davies to front pastedown. Light wear to extremities, covers and spine slightly soiled, title label worn. A very good copy with slightly foxed prelims and endmatter.
