NotesFirst Riccardi Press edition, copy number 956 of 1,000 copies on handmade Riccardi Paper; an additional 13 were printed on vellum. Brooke's Collected Poems were first published in 1915 in the US, and then in the UK in 1918, expanded and with a memoir by Eddie Marsh - this is the first fine press edition, issued by Philip Lee Warner's Riccardi Press which was well known for fine editions of Chaucer, Malory, Shakespeare, Tennyson and Browning, reflecting in this company just how rapidly the deceased soldier-poet had been canonised.
Octavo. Finely bound by Birdsall in contemporary red half morocco, spine gilt in compartments with raised bands and titles direct, pale red cloth sides with gilt rule, marbled endpapers, top edge gilt.
