First edition, first printing, of the author's first book. It was later published in 1955 under the title I Die Slowly, and is one of four books published under Millar's real name, prior to publication of the Lew Archer series under his pseudonym John Ross Macdonald. Written while he was still a graduate student at the University of Michigan, this is the scarcest of Millar's works, with just two copies traced at auction in the dust jacket.Description

Condition
Spine slightly rolled. An excellent copy in the jacket with some minor loss to spine ends, chip and closed tear to head of front panel, and some nicks and rubbing to extremities.
