First edition, signed limited issue, number 94 of 275 copies signed by the author, printed on blue and grey handmade paper, 25 of which were not for sale; a further 60 copies were issued in a glass slipcase, ten of which were not for sale. Published to commemorate the death of the Nobel Prize winning poet Czeslaw Milosz on 14 August 2004, this work features an essay on Milosz and two poems by Heaney: What Passed at Colonus, first published in 2004 in the New York Review of Books, and Saw Music, published here for the first time.

Description

Octavo (210 x 150 mm). Original grey cloth-backed stainless steel covers, printed in brown and black, edges untrimmed, illustrated blue endpapers. Bound into a mixed-media wrap featuring a silkscreen collage of articles from Polish newspapers in the days after Milosz's death. Housed in a folded black card case, printed in silver.
