The Economic Causes of War.New York: Howard Fertig, 1968 Stock Code: 140537
NotesThe author's own copy, together with his original carbon typescript of the preface he contributed to the edition, with his own revisions in blue ink, revisions which were included in the preface when printed. In The Economic Causes of War, first published in 1939, Robbins rejects the Marxist ideas of capitalist economic structures causing wars, instead finding the anarchic political organization of the world to be the "root disease of our civilization", and thus concludes that national sovereignty in economic matters must be curbed and replaced by some sort of a federation. The book, not otherwise marked as Robbins's copy, was sold with the rest of Robbins's library following his death.
