Thomas Milner, d.1882, whose numerous publications involved science, religion and travel, and enjoyed great success in both Great Britain and America. As mentioned, this copy is missing one plate and has therefore been priced accordingly.
Octavo (250 x 165 mm). Contemporary brown calf, green morocco label to spine lettered in gilt, compartments decorated in gilt to spine, raised bands, gilt fillet to front board, marbled endpapers and edges.
Engraved title page, 4 full page plates, 13 double-page colour maps, small engravings throughout.
