First edition, first printing. Inscribed by the author, using his real name Kenneth Millar, on the front free endpaper "March 1959. For Willard and Pidge, affectionately, Ken". Willard and Pidge were Santa Barbara neighbors, and a character named Pidge appears in another of the author's books.
