The Golden Hind.
A Quarterly Magazine of Art and Literature.London: Chapman and Hall Limtd, April 1924 Stock Code: 141840
First edition, first impression, number 32 of 75 cloth copies signed by both Spare and Bax on the front free endpaper. This copy is from the library of the artist Pickford Robert Waller (18491930), with his bookplate. He was a leading member of the aesthetic movement and a prolific illustrator, producing book designs for Guthrie's Pear Tree Press, and others.
1 volume only (vol. 2, no. 7), tall quarto. Original beige cloth-backed boards, titles and designs in beige to black paper-covered board.
Numerous monochrome illustrations, including 18 full-page, by Evelyn Waugh, Nora Wright, Alfred Warbis, John Austen, and others.
Minor bowing to boards, slight rubbing and bumping to extremities, the binding otherwise firm and unfaded, occasional faint offsetting, else internally fresh; a very good copy indeed.
