NotesFirst edition, first printing. The dedication copy, inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper to the banker William R. Saloman: "to Bill Saloman with my best wishes Sidney Homer". Homer states in his dedication of the book to Saloman - who helped turn Salomon Brothers into an international banking house - that his "sustained and effective support over these years made possible those many bond market research projects which provided the substance of these speeches". Sidney Homer was a leading bond authority, whose career on Wall Street spanned nearly half a century, including working at Salomon Brothers as head of the Bond Market Research Department from 1961 onwards. The present work consists of 27 speeches delivered by Homer from 1961 to 1977.
