First separate edition, this copy out series (as usual) of a stated issue of 100 copies. Presentation copy from the author to his sister Olwyn Hughes, inscribed on the front free endpaper: "To Olwyn with love Ted 3rd March 70 For the rose, the thorn is watered". This was one of Hughes's favourite mottoes. The poem was originally printed in The Hawk in the Rain collection.
Small quarto. Original printed wrappers.
Without the red and blue wrappers. A little toned, a couple of marks on covers, else a very good copy.
