First US edition, first printing, of the eleventh and penultimate of Lang's "Fairy Books". This work contains 29 fairy tales such as "The Green Knight", "The Satin Surgeon", and "The Silent Princess". The UK edition was published the same year.

Description

Octavo. Original olive green cloth, spine lettered in gilt, large gilt pictorial decoration to front cover, pictorial green and blue endpapers, edges gilt.

Illustrations

Frontispiece with tissue guard, 7 colour plates, 20 black and white plates, illustrations in the text.

Condition

Neat contemporary ownership signature to front free endpaper. Spine a little sunned, minor crease to rear cover, light rubbing to joints and extremities. A very good, tight copy.
