First and only edition of these World War One poems by a pilot of the Royal Flying Corps, who had enlisted during his first year at Wadham College, Oxford. His Poems were considered by contemporary reviewers to be among the best that the war had produced.
Provenance: ink ownership inscription of Douglas W. Ashby (1898-196?), dated 13 March 1918, to front free endpaper. He was a poet and travel writer, who also served as a clerk in the Army Service Corps at Derby before committing himself to pacifism.

Small octavo. Original quarter blue cloth and grey boards, titles printed in black to paper spine label, untrimmed.

Spine lightly darkened, scattered foxing; else a very good, firm copy.
