First edition thus, number 144 of 400 copies so bound, from a total edition of 458, all printed on Arches pure rag paper made to match the paper used by Blake.

Blake scholar Geoffrey Keynes (1887-1982) provides a commentary and bibliographical history. One of the richest and most elaborate of Trianon's Blake facsimiles, "The Song of Los completes the cycles of the four continents... the complete work tells the story of mankind from Adam to the Last Judgement, the triumph of death, and the general resurrection caused by the revolution" (Blake Dictionary, S. Foster Damon).

From the library, though unmarked as such, of David Lindsay, 28th Earl of Crawford and 11th Earl of Balcarres (1900-1975), who served as chairman of the National Trust from 1945 to 1965, alongside serving as trustee of the Tate and National Galleries, the British Museum, and the National Library of Scotland.
