The Spy Who Loved Me.London, Jonathan Cape, 1962 Stock Code: 134789
NotesFirst edition, first impression, handsomely bound for the luxury purveyors Asprey. The Spy Who Loved Me is the only Bond book to be written in the first person, presented as the testimony of a 23-year-old Canadian woman with whom Bond has an ill-fated affair. In furtherance of this pretence, Vivienne Michel gets a spurious credit on the title page as co-author. A film adaptation was produced in 1977, starring Roger Moore.
Octavo (184 x 122 mm). Finely bound for Asprey in black morocco, spine lettered in gilt, spine compartments, covers and turn-ins ruled in gilt, marbled endpapers, gilt edges. With the original dust jacket bound in at rear.
Double-page spread illustration pp. 6-7.
A fine copy.
