First Mosher edition, number 28 of 100 copies printed on japon paper, with an additional 925 copies printed on Van Gelder paper. The printer, Thomas Mosher, was a major contributor to the American private press movement. A finely printed and bound copy, first published in 1879.

Description

Octavo (175 x 93 mm). Near-contemporary black crushed half morocco by Stikeman, spine lettered in gilt with gilt floral motifs to compartments, marbled sides and endpapers, top edge gilt, silk bookmark.

Condition

Detached bookplate of Louis Henry Bristol. Very slightly chipped at head, very slight wear to extremities, glue traces from bookplate to front and rear endpapers. A very good copy.
