First edition, first impression, signed in pencil to the title page by the author, "W. J. Knox-Little", a pencil ownership inscription to the front free endpaper, "Andrew Soutflower 1913", and a note in ink by Soutflower to the dedication page, "Canon Knox-Little told me that the apparitions stated in 'The Waif from the Waves' had happened to him, Andrew Soutflower".
Knox Little (1839-1918) was a Church of England clergyman known as an "uncompromising high-churchman, who insisted frankly on the benefit of sacramental confessionat that time a practice unacceptable to most Anglicans" (ODNB).

Spine a little cocked, minor rubbing to extremities, a couple of faint marks to cloth, outer leaves lightly foxed; an attractive copy in very good condition.
