It was originally published in 20 monthly shilling parts, from February 1874 to September 1875. Harper's first US edition was published in its usual single-volume form.

Slight wear to extremities, the bindings otherwise bright and notably unfaded, hinges cracked but holding, light damp stains to rear board and endpapers of vol. 2, internally clean; still an attractive set.
