A near-fine copy in the jacketFirst edition, first impression of Yeats's follow-up collection to The Tower, containing some of his best, and most difficult, poems, such as "Blood and the Moon", "A Dialogue of Self and Soul", "Vacillation", and, of course, "Byzantium", and thus full of "those images that yet / fresh images beget; / that dolphin-torn, and gong tormented sea".
A smaller collection, notably lacking the famous "Byzantium", under the same title (but without "and Other Poems") had been printed in New York in 1929.
Octavo. Original green cloth, titles and geometric pattern to spine gilt, pictorial design by T. Sturge Moore to upper board blocked in blind, untrimmed. With the dust jacket, also designed by Sturge Moore.
