A particularly attractive set, beautifully bound by the workshop of Henry Stikeman, one of the leading American binders of the period.
27 volumes, octavo (237 x 161 mm). Contemporary burgundy morocco by Stikeman, spines gilt lettered direct, compartments with double fillet panels enclosing trefoil foilate motifs on a field of gilt dots, sawtooth pattern on the raised bands, sides with double fillet frame enclosing panel of trailing stems and repeated trefoils and dots, gilt ruled turn-ins, marbled endpapers, top edges gilt.
Title pages printed in red and black.
