An attractive early set of Tennyson's works in a Zaehnsdorf exhibition binding. Collected editions of Tennyson's works began to appear in 1870; the canonical complete works was published in the 1907 to 1908 Eversley edition, edited by the author's son Hallam.Description
10 volumes, octavo (180 x 123 mm). Contemporary red morocco bound by Zaehnsdorf to exhibition standard, gilt stamp to rear turn-in, titles to spines in gilt, raised bands ruled in gilt to spines, compartments richly tooled in gilt, elaborate frames to covers in gilt surrounding central arboreal vignette, marbled endpapers, binder's blindstamp to foot of rear free endpapers, floral tooled turn-ins, red silk bookmarks, top edges gilt, others untrimmed, largely unopened.

Condition
Minor rubbing to joints and tips, a little offsetting to endpapers, a couple of spots of foxing to first blanks, else contents clean and fresh; a fine set.
