18 volumes, large octavo (240 x 157 mm). Attractively bound in recent blue morocco, spines lettered gilt in two compartments, others with gilt motifs between gilt bands, covers with two-line gilt rules, marbled endpapers, top edges gilt, others uncut.
Frontispieces, engraved additional titles and 74 plates, portraits, facsimiles, etc. printed on japon paper, all with tissue guards with captions printed in red.
