Notes

First edition, first impression, of Woolf's penultimate novel, and the most popular of her novels during her lifetime. Woolf began The Years in the early 1930s as a novel-essay entitled The Pargiters. Woolf subsequently divided it into two parts, with the fiction portion reworked into The Years and the essay portion the basis for Three Guineas.
