First edition, signed limited issue, number 165 of 250 copies, signed by the author.
This volume comprises the first collected edition of four of Milne's works: The Day's Play, The Holiday Round, Once a Week, and The Sunny Side. Milne introduces the book in his "Prelude" stating "Here, within one volume, are collected the writings of a certain A.A.M.; who enjoyed himself weekly in the pages of Punch... If from 1916 to 1920, more particularly from 1906 to 1914, he wrote nothing worth preserving, then this book shall be testimony of it, and men shall say of him: He was less distinguished as a Writer than as a Least Common Multiple. For those, to him, were the days".
Octavo. Original red cloth, lettering and facsimile signature with border in gilt, top edge gilt.
Spine faded, otherwise bright, minor browning to endpapers, slight splitting at gutter after first leaf, minor foxing to fore-edge, else a clean and very good copy.
