Toward Full Employment.New York, Whittlesey House, 1938 Stock Code: 139979
NotesFirst edition, first printing, of this joint proposal by the presidents of four progressive industrial concerns to expand governmental public works programs and increase long range planning to achieve full employment and stabilize employment figures. Although Keynes is cited only briefly, the proposals are Keynesian in principle, and reflect the ongoing push for an increase in government intervention in the economy as the economic downturn following the 1929 crash lingered on.
Octavo. Original blue cloth, spine and front cover lettered in gilt. With the dust jacket.
Spine very lightly dulled, minor scratch to rear cover, else a near-fine copy in like jacket, light crease to spine panel and very faint soiling, slight mark along front fold, yet still a fresh example.
