Quesnay on gangrene
First edition. An early work by the French Enlightenment economist François Quesnay (1694-1774), intellectual leader of the physiocrats, the first systematic school of political economy. He is best known for his important Tableau économique (1758). Quesnay originally trained as a physician and, at the time of publication of the Traité de la gangrène, served as the consulting physician to Louis XV at Versailles. A particularly attractive copy in a period French binding.Description
Duodecimo (166 x 98 mm). Contemporary French red crushed morocco, three-line gilt border on sides, decorative gilt spine, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers.
