First edition, first impression, signed by Bawden on the top forecorner of the front free endpaper (suggestive, though not definitely so, of an ownership inscription). This anthology of travellers' verse from across the centuries, attractively illustrated with lithographs by Bawden, was part of the New Excursions Into English Poetry series (general editors W. J. Turner and Sheila Shannon.)
