Triple Fugue.Grant Richards Limited, London , 1924 Stock Code: 76467
NotesFirst edition, first impression. "Early in 1924 Sitwell completed his first work of fiction, Triple Fugue, a collection of six studies of weird behaviour and egoistic eccentricity" (ODNB). The binding of this copy differs from that noted by Fifoot, who calls for "orange patterned paper boards" and a paper spine label. The presence of the dust jacket - which is not recorded in the bibliography - is exceptional.
Octavo. Original gilt lettered black cloth spine, orange cloth sides, top edge black. With the dust jacket.
Jacket spine sunned and a little creased at extremities, short closed-tear to head of spine, faintest touch of foxing to fore-edge of book block. A superior copy, firm, square and sharp-cornered.
