Typed letter signed, arranging a concert.29 April 1954 Stock Code: 141394
Typed letter signed from the American singer and social activist Peter Seeger (1919-2014), dated 29 April 1954, responding to a request for a concert: "I am very glad to know that there is a possibility of my coming to Vancouver to put on a concert. As you point out in your letter the fare alone is so high that it makes it almost prohibitively expensive. I am afraid that I would have to ask 250 or 300 minimum and even this would not be practical for me unless I got a couple of other engagements in other cities on the west coast to share the transportation cost... perhaps it would be practical to consider sharing cost with an appearance at the University or else an evening party. I have done this in several other cities that I have visited during the last winter. With all good wishes and I am looking forward to the possibility to singing for you during the next year. Sincerely, Peter Seeger".
Typed letter (264 x 184 mm).
Lightly creased, a few spots of soiling; in good condition.
