First edition, the Brooke-Hitching copy, with his pencilled initials to the initial blank of each volume.This work "includes Mr Wilson's journey from Zanzibar to Rubaga. Wilson is the first European who has crossed the Victoria Nyanza, having made three voyages from Ntebbi to Kagei; and he has coasted its western shores twice" (Prince Ibrahim-Hilmy).
Dr Robert William Felkin (1853-1926) was a medical missionary and explorer, an early anthropologist, with an interest in ethno-medicine and tropical diseases, and a prolific author on Uganda and Central Africa.
Description
2 volumes, octavo. Original greenish-brown cloth, route map stamped to front boards in red and black, black coated endpapers. Housed in a custom blue cloth slipcase.

Condition
Slight wear to extremities, corners and spines ends a little bumped, internal binding slightly cracked between pp. 112-113 in vol. I and pp. 160-161 in vol. II; a very good set indeed.
