Unfinished Portrait.London : 1934 Stock Code: 108135
NotesFirst edition, first impression, of Agatha Christie's semi-autobiographical novel, the second written under the pseudonym of Mary Westmacott. Christie's adoption of a pseudonym was an interesting psychological manoeuvre that allowed her license for self-revelation not to be found in her detective fiction or even in her autobiography. Christie even adopted a different handwriting style for presentation copies of the book.
Octavo. Original blue cloth, lettering to spine. With the dust jacket.
Spine slightly rolled, top edge a little dusty, short closed tear to head of contents page; a near-fine copy in the well-preserved jacket, spine ends and tips nicked and creased, closed tears to head and foot of front panel.
