First edition, regular trade issue, double presentation copy, with a drawing and inscription signed by the artist, "To Reginald T. Townsend, Arthur Rackham 1927", also inscribed by the author on the half-title: "'In every tree the birds cry DoxyLove was never done to proxy' From a song for Sir Toby Belch and here inserted with affectionate regards to an old partner in error from his Christopher Morley".

Quarto. Original bright blue cloth, titles to spine and front cover and pictorial decoration gilt, endpapers white with light blue illustration. With the colour pictorial dust jacket.

Condition

Bookplate of Reginald T Townsend to front pastedown, mild toning spots to title page, else a very attractive copy in dust jacket with spine lightly faded, light chipping to front panel top edge, shallow chipping to spine ends and front flap fold, mild soiling to rear panel. A very good copy.
